May 28th brought 12 folks to the Mary our Morning Star Retreat House site to plant potatoes.
After the success of last year’s crop, we thought, if 500 pounds of seed potatoes did well, then 1000 pounds will do better! So with our very own “12 apostles of the potato patch”, the whole patch was planted in just over two hours.
When we think about food sustainability and the environmental good news of the 100-mile diet, we now have some idea of what it really means by looking at the blisters and sunburns.
And the value? PRICELESS!
